One of our fellow Wakkanai veterans is a newly published author and has asked me to post this announcement here on my web site. You've probably already surmised from the title that the book is about the author's assignment at a unit other than Wakkanai. But since many of you who visit here were assigned at units other than Wakkanai, you may well have been stationed at the legendary SKIVVY NINE at Osan Air Base, Korea at one time or another during your career. If so, this book is a "must read" for you.
But even if you weren't stationed at SKIVVY NINE, career military people will be able to relate to this story on a personal basis. And those of you who spent one tour in the military then got out will find it interesting to learn what their leaders were up to behind the scenes.
The author published the book under the pen name T. Wyman Beal. As you read the book, you might figure out (especially you 202's) the true identity of the author, but if you ask if he's the author, he will not confirm nor deny. He must maintain his anonymity so he will have plausible deniability that he wrote SKIVVY NINE! just in case one of the book's characters decides to go for some "pay back".
This book can be purchased on the internet at Booklocker.com for $17.95. Booklocker guarantees delivery within 10 business days, but most books are in the buyer's hands in about seven days from the time the book is ordered.

It covers my first four years in the Air Force with the
first few pages devoted to basic training and tech
school. Over half the story takes place in Misawa
and about a third at Wakkanai. You'll see many
names you recognize from this site scattered
throughout the text, to include Russ Butcher, Terry
McGee, Bill Stuart, Nina the bar owner, Royce
Lloyd, B.J. Cook, Larry Benkovich, John Sinnard,
Red Murray, Roy Heath, and Sandy Sanderson, to
name just a few. Others, however, have been
given fictitious names, either because I couldn't
contact them for their permission to use their real
ones or because they are portrayed in a negative
light. But you'll probably recognize some of them
anyway, like klutzy 1st Lieutenant Alexander C.
Parkinson, or the crusty, legendary old NCO
named Jake Newman.
You can order the book one of several different
ways. It's available on the internet at
booklocker.com, amazon.com,
barnsandboble.com, and waldenbooks.com. If
you order off the internet, I would prefer you do so
from booklocker.com. I get the best royalty from
them and I get the money faster :>] The following

For you traditionalists who refuse to do business
on the internet, you can special order the book
