I was wondering if you knew a Richard (Dickey) Young that also served at Wakkanai in '61 to '62. He's my father and I would like to know more about him.

I am Lloyd Swanburg, a former Air Force Civilian (dependent school teacher) at Wakkanai Air Station from Aug 1963 to late May 1964. While at Wakkanai I dated a Japanese National, Hiroko Yamaguchi, who worked in various jobs on the base, becoming a key punch operator last I knew, and may have eventually worked for one Major Payne. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who knew her.

I worked with Don at Wakkanai Jan. 1961 till about May of 1963. Don and I were 67150s and worked in the acctg. office. I moved on to Hq USAFSS and Don went to Austin. I now live in the Atlanta area. My name is Chris Stacks. My dad Willie Stacks served at Misawa and Wakkanai in the late 50's. I would like to hear from anyone that knew him. I know little about the places he served at before I was born.
My name is Lynda Vargas and my dad is Roy. I am trying to help him find an old friend that was stationed with him in Wakkanai btween 52 and 54. His name is George Gilbert and he and my dad wore out a Hank Snow 45 record one night , by playing it over and over all night. My dad says they used to be really good buddies. Dad is 74 and still works a full time job. Up until he turned 70 he played basketball on a league at the local Y. He was also always in the big Hoop-It-Up basketball tournament. My twin brother and I were stationed at Wakkanai from 9/66 through 12/67. We were assigned to Charlie flight and Staff Sgt. Francis Scott was our squad leader. Sgt. Scott served several tours in Wakkanai and I would like to get in touch with him. Also, a Sgt. Applegate, Steve Rivera, James (we call him Monty) Montieth (not sure that's spelled right) and anyone that served during that time. My brother is Charles Johnson, we left Wakkanai for Key West and finished out our service. I just retired from the Federal Government about two years ago.
